Abstract

Aceh with its special autonomy still has problems in the field of education, namely dropping out of school. The reason is that the economic level of the community is still considered a determinant of their ability to send their children to school. Various efforts have been made to overcome this problem, one of which is the distribution of scholarships allocated from the APBA. However, these efforts have not been able to fully embrace them so they can go to school. This study examines other efforts made to overcome the problem of dropping out of school, namely the provision of educational assistance funds using the Baitul Mal Aceh community welfare fund. This research was conducted in Aceh Province. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis was carried out interactively. The results of the study indicate that the provision of education assistance funds through programs managed by Baitul Mal Aceh has contributed to overcoming the problem of dropping out of school in Aceh. Based on the function and capacity of the Baitul Mal Aceh which was enhanced in Aceh Qanun Number 3 of 2021, that the community funds in the Aceh Baitul Mal can be managed productively, namely management with the aim of empowerment through the provision of free education in the form of scholarships for Sanif Muallaf and Sanif ibn Sabil. With the distribution of zakat funds productively, it will accelerate economic development & education regardless of the efforts that have been provided by the Aceh government
